Hey everyone what’s up?

Well it’s that time of year again, the contests have officially started. I’m sure most of you all know the first one was a few weeks ago at owc, it was super fun and im glad that it was here in Orlando.

I ended up coming in 3rd so I was real happy, it was a great way to start the year. It was great to see owc local Nicola Butler take 1st in the woman’s division.

My trip to panama was great, Parks and I put on a wakeboard show during the Red Bull Air Race, which was insane. We then had a few days to kill so we went over to the Caribbean side to do some surfing and filming for Parks’s documentary. It was really fun and we got a lot of good stuff on tape.

Since Parks and I had a few days at home, we decided to get certified to skydive. Red Bull hooked us up with the right guys and we got it done. It’s seriously one of the craziest things you could possibly do. I think we’re up to about 12 solo jumps now and we’re going to be jumping as much as possible.

Tige just hooked me up with my new boat for this year and it’s so sic! Can’t wait to put some hours on it.

Alright what’s up everyone? I’m so glad that the water is starting to warm up, the weather has been awesome lately!

These past few months have been pretty busy for me, I had a minor knee surgery in January which put me out of the scene for about a month and a half. As soon as I started feeling better, I had to get busy with my up and coming video section in "DRIVE", Sean kilgus's newest film that will be out early summer. Since then, I have just been busy getting in shape and training for the 08 season, I can’t believe it’s just around the corner.

I leave tomorrow for panama with Parks Bonifay. We will be there for a full week doing some demos for the red bull air race this week. I will get home just in time for the Nautique Wake Games at OWC. I’m pretty excited for the first major event of the year. Make sure to be there!

How’s it going guys? I’m Adam Errington and I’m going to be writing a blog about my wakeboarding adventures. The blog will be posted on Orlandowatersports.com and it will be updated frequently so keep checking in!

I was born in Ullapool, Scotland and moved to Orlando when I was three. I messed around for a few years then started sliding sideways when I was 13. I rode on the cable for a full year at OWC then Mike Ferraro got me riding behind OWC’s boat. Rene Hoffman, owner of OWC, supported me from the beginning. OWC gave me a place to ride because I grew up without a boat. I began competing straight away in the Performance Gravel Tour and OWC’s Slider Spectacular. From that point I joined the Pro Wakeboard Tour in the Jr. Men division. I did Jr. Men for three years. Fox Racing approached me in 2005 and I’ve been growing with that team ever since. My last year, 2006, I won the Jr. Men Tour, Jr. Nationals, and Wakegames. I signed with Ronix Wakeboards and became part of what I feel is the most talented wakeboard team out. My fellow Ronix teammates are Parks Bonifay, Danny Harf, Chad Sharpe, and Emily Copeland-Durham. Shortly after signing with Ronix, I began working on my first pro-model wakeboard: the Mana.

For 2007, I decided I wanted to go Pro. OWC, Fox, Ronix and Tige boats all supported me. At the first tournament of the year, Wakegames, I signed with my newest sponsor Redbull. I went into the season not expecting too much, I just hoped to make the tour. I ended up making podium four times and finished up with 8th place overall on the Protour. At the end of 2007, I won Rookie of the Year. It was a dream come true and something I never saw coming.

This winter I’ve been doing lots of traveling. I was in Australia for a month with Ronix teammate Chad Sharpe. Our main focus was promoting my new collection the Kaimana. The word Kai in Polynesian means “power” and Mana means “water.” The concept behind the Kaimana is the power of the water. If you haven’t checked it out yet, it’s a brand new shape for Ronix of 07. It’s a hybrid 3-stage rocker with tons of pop. I really wanted a fun “trick” board with lots of control. It’s also our first board with built in fins for better traction and control, which I love from my days on the cable; it’s a great all around board. I think it’s a perfect fit in Ronix’s sick line of boards. As for the Kai bindings, they’re made of hemp so they have a real relaxed earthy feel. I like a binding that has a bit of flex because I don’t like my ankles being locked and stiff so my boots are a littler lower cut than the rest of Ronix’s bindings and there’s a little more play.

I just got back from Panama and the Caribbean with the Redbull team. It’s boat show season so I’ve got more traveling ahead. I’ll be flying up to Denver this weekend.
Before I know it, it will be competition season again. So look for me out at OWC and ask to try out my board! I’ll be in touch!
