Jordan Jones, Daniel Haddad, Tracy Baynham, Noah Flegel, Eric Worrall, Brian Robbins, Aaron Perkins & Julian Cohen crowned2009 SLIDER SPECTACULAR CHAMPIONS!

ORLANDO, FLORIDA - On Saturday October 24th the Orlando Watersports Complex held its 7th Annual Slider Spectacular.  The event was an obstacles-only competition for wakeboarders, wakeskaters & -for the first time ever; wakeskiers of all skill levels. Competition started at 11AM and lasted all the way up till 6PM.

The event had almost 50 riders competing and everyone brought their best tricks out to the cable! Jordan Jones, Daniel Haddad, Tracy Baynham, Eric Worrall & Julian Cohen dominated their respective wakeboard divisions. Noah Flegel & Aaron Perkins finished first in our (resp.) beginner and pro wakeskate divisions. And our inaugural pro wakeskiing division was won by Brian Robbins.

The pro divisions were basically set up as best trick competitions again. The only difference was that this year the money wasn’t to be made per obstacle but per category, those being: tech, style & originality! The pro wakeboard, wakeskate & wakeski divisions awarded $100 checks to those who could throw their most stylish, techiest & most original tricks from our sliders and kickers.

Julian Cohen definitely came through again this year, after recovering from his devastating knee injury he suffered from since last year’s Slider Spectacular. The now 5-time Slider Spectacular Champion showed no fear when boosting off the same “knee breaker” kicker that destroyed his knee last year- he went bigger than ever and rode his heart out yesterday! He won $100 for most original line, Nate Perry did so in the style category and Keith Lidberg took home a check for the most technical run of the pro wakeboard division.

In the pro wakeskating division last year’s overall winner Kyle Hyams won the originality check, Aaron Perkins took the honors for winning the tech category AND taking home the overall win as well! Josh Zentmeyer won the last $100 check up for grabs by displaying the most style throughout his run. The pro wakeskiing division was pretty much dominated by Brian Robbins. Not only did he win overall, but he also took home two $100 checks for both the tech & style categories. Pete Kuhlman won the originality category.

The Orlando Watersports Complex would like to thank Performance Ski&Surf, Ronix, RedBull, Nautique of Orlando, Hyperlite, Voda, 925Never, Monavie & IndoBoards for sponsoring the event once again!
