The first King of Wake competition was held at OWC and went off with a bang! OWC had team riders in multiple divisions: Pro Men, Pro Women, Jr.Men, and Jr.Boys.

Wake Games was Adam Errington's first Pro event as he decided to step up from the Jr. Men's division. The pressure was high for Adam, but he was obviously feeling good. Errington placed first in his qualifying heat, his quarterfinals heat and his semi-finals heat! Adam went on to place 2nd in finals, superceded only by fellow OWC Team rider Phillip Soven. Finals was intense! Errington went off the dock second, after Rusty Malinoski, his wake tricks included a tail glide, a toeside 720, a heelside 720, a Pete-Rose, a toeside 540, a KGB, a Crow-Mobe, a tantrum to blind, and a toeside 900. He ended his pass with a heelside 900 off the double up which he popped the handle on. Phillip Soven came off the dock determined to win! He threw a heelside 720, a whirly dick, a crow-mobe 540, a switch back-mobe, a toeside roll to blind, a dum-dum, a moby-dick, and a batwing. He ended his super technical pass with a backside 720 off the double up.

Team rider Nicola Butler competed in the Pro Women's division and did wonderfully in her quarterfinals heat. She placed third out of seven.

Robert Soven came back strong in the Jr. Men's division after laying low from an injury last year. He proved that he's still got it, with huge tricks and super smooth style. He ended the weekend with a second place finish.

Jason Soven, always a crowd favorite, blew everyone away at Wake Games. He walked away with the Jr. Boy's first place title. Soon he will be giving his older brothers a run for the money!!

Congratulations go out to all of the competitors! Way to go Adam, Nicola, Phillip, Jason and Robert! OWC is so proud of you!!
