2008 Extremity Games Comes To Michigan

FRASIER, Mich. - Extremity Events Network is proud to announce its third annual Extremity Games, July 24-26, 2008, an extreme amateur sporting competition for people living with limb loss and limb difference. This year's event will be held for the first time in Michigan.

The opening ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on July 24, 2008 at Baja MX in Millington, Michigan, where competition begins with BMX and Motocross. The following day competitors will head over to the South Street Skate Park in Rochester, Mich. for the skateboarding competition. Also on Friday, July 25, rock climbing competitors will tackle Planet Rock in Pontiac, Mich. The final day of competition will take place at the Pontiac Lake Recreational Area in Waterford, Mich. where the kayaking, wakeboarding and mountain biking events will be held.

In addition to the sporting competitions, there will be free clinics for skateboarding, rock climbing, wakeboarding, kayaking and mountain biking held throughout the event. On Friday July 25, 2008 the Crown Plaza Hotel in Auburn Hills will host an EX3 film festival.

In addition to hosting athletes from around the world, Extremity Games is proud to welcome members of the Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports Project, where recovering wounded warriors can not only compete in extreme sports, but can also educate themselves on sports that they have never tried before. The Extremity Games event is an opportunity for our recovering wounded service members to help them get active again through sports.
