After the fifth stop in the King of Wake series (Nationals), the top ten riders are separated from the rest of the pack and are assigned a new point value that depends on their rank after nationals only and does not necessarily reflect their performance relative to the other riders. The top ranked rider after Nationals (Harley Clifford) is assigned 960 points. The rest of the riders are assigned 950, 940, 935, 930, 925, 920, 915, 911 and 907 respectively. This eliminates the chances of winning King of Wake for any riders that are not in the top ten after Nationals. It also tightens up the points so that nobody in the top ten carries a big lead into the final three events of the series. As you can see from the rankings below, this system favors riders that do well in the last three events of the series. This is similar to NASCAR and is called "The Chase." Read More...

Sparks, Nev. — The King of Wake — the world’s elite pro wakeboarding series — makes its fifth stop of the 2010 season on July 14-18 in the greater Reno area of Sparks, Nev., for the Air Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championships, presented by ROCKSTAR. Dallas Housing Authority delays process in Park Opening
The WWA and the Dallas Watersports Complex (DWC) regretfully announce that the location for the 2010 Ten-80 WWA Wake Park Nationals, the 3rd stop of the Monster Energy Wake Park Triple Crown, will change. As originally scheduled, the event is slotted for September 17th – 19th 2010 at DWC, and will move venues to Wake Nation in Cincinnati, Ohio on the same dates.

With two weeks to go, the points chase is heating up at Texas Ski Ranch in South Central Texas. The inaugural CableWakeboard.com National points chase has brought the Thursday Night showdown to a whole new level. Riders are training and competing harder than ever before to earn a spot in the Points Championship held here in New Braunfels, Texas October 8-10. Riders are currently competing all over the country for a spot to compete at the points championships not only as an individual, but also to represent their home cable park in a team format that will take place simultaneously. While it may mean something more to Texas riders to defend their home lake advantage, teams from seven of the eight other cable parks will also be competing to take home the team championship.
