Grassman Caps Off an Impressive Rookie Season with a World Title
Indianapolis, Ind. – The high-flying, water-sports action of the 18th annual Rockstar Energy Drink WWA Wakeboard World Championships, presented by Supra continued today in northern Indianapolis, as 13 of its 23 skill-level divisions hit the waters of The Precedent for their final round of action. Among the 13 division winners crowned today was 19-year-old Florida native Brooke Grassman, who capped off an impressive rookie season today with a world title.

Japan’s Tezuka Wows at WWA Wakeboard World Championship Opener
Indianapolis, Ind. – The top wakeboarders from throughout the globe hit the waters of The Precedent today in northern Indianapolis to kick off the 18th annual Rockstar Energy Drink WWA Wakeboard World Championships, presented by Supra. Rattray recently finished seventh at the Acworth Pro Wakeboard Tour (PWT) stop and is currently ranked 13th overall on the PWT. He is also a notable driver for the King of Wake series including Nautique Wake Games, U.S. Masters and Nautique WWA Nationals as well as a long-time coach at the Boarding School.

Our culture at Nautique includes not only building the world’s best boats but also working to make our world better. Our employees regularly volunteer time and resources not only here in Central Florida but also around the world through service trips we take as a team. These service trips have taken us twice to Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and most recently to the Apache reservation in Arizona. Later this year we have a group of employees traveling to Ethiopia to serve there.

After the fifth stop in the King of Wake series (PWT #4), the top ten riders are separated from the rest of the pack and are assigned a new point value that depends on their rank and does not necessarily reflect their performance relative to the other riders up to that point. The top ranked rider (Phillip Soven) is assigned 965 points. The rest of the riders are assigned 955, 945, 940, 935, 930, 925, 920, 916 and 912 respectively. This eliminates the chances of winning King of Wake for any riders that are not in the top ten after PWT #4. It also tightens up the points so that nobody in the top ten carries a big lead into the final three events of the series. As you can see from the rankings below, this system favors riders in the top ten that do well in the last three events of the series. This is similar to NASCAR and is called "The Chase."
