Fort Worth, TX - A dozen of the top wakeboarders and wakeskaters in the state gathered at the Fort Worth Convention Center last weekend to compete in the Cowtown Cup Wakeboard Rail Jam. It all took place during the 53rd Annual Fort Worth Boat and Sport Show presented by Thornhill Nissan. It was the third year in a row that an indoor rail jam was featured at the show, but the first time that it was a full-blown competition. The boat show put up a $1,000 purse and all of the rail jam sponsors matched it to bring the total haul to $2000!

On Saturday, the riders were split into two heats of six with the top four in each advancing to Sundays semi-finals. The first heat saw Duston Swafford, Earl Ball, Gabe Lucas and Clint Tompkins move on. In heat #2 it was Tom Fooshee, Bret Little, Rusty Scott and Keith Holly who made it through.

On Sunday morning, the eight semi-finalists did a random drawing to determine which of two heats they would be in. The top two in each heat would move on to the finals that afternoon. When the dust settled, it was Fooshee, Ball and Scott on wakeboards and Texas wakeskate phenom Bret Little who would be battling it out for their share of the $2000 purse.

All of the riders killed it in the finals and everyone would get paid, but it was the Austin crew that scooped the top three spots. Liquid Force pro and 2007 WWA Wake Park Champion, Tom Fooshee, took home the big check for $1000 when he went front board 270 to back-lip and back 90 out. His friend and roommate, Bret Little, also made rent money when he back lipped the entire 40 foot Monster Energy Rail and landed clean on a wakeskate. He pocketed $500 for his efforts. Earl Ball took third with a board-slide to back-side 270 out and DFW local, Rusty Scott rounded out the top four.

The Cowtown Cup Wakeboard Rail Jam competition was made possible with support from Waterski Boats Dallas (Supra/Moomba), Waterski America (Malibu), Texas Mastercraft, Fun & Sun (Centurion), Woly Board Company, Thornhill Nissan, H20 Clothing and the Fort Worth Boat Show.

The event was produced by Geiger Media in association with Innovation Event Management. The rail jam set-up was provided by Dallas based Ridin Rails, LLC.
