Hansen Closes in on Fourth Consecutive World Title
Orlando, Fla. – Nearly 100 professional riders hit the waters of the Orlando Watersports Complex today for the 17th annual ROCKSTAR WWA Wakeboard World Championships, presented by Supra, but only one was there to compete for his fourth consecutive world title – Reed Hansen.

Hansen, a 20-year-old professional wakeskater from Groveland, Fla., is now one round away from pulling off the fourpeat, as he won his semifinal heat today to advance onto Sunday’s Pro Wakeskate finals.
“I felt that I really put it together out there today,” said Hansen. “It was the closest I’ve gotten to a standup run, so I’m feeling pretty stoked right now.”
Hansen posted a score of 81.67 for his semifinal run, which consisted of eight ‘bangers’ including a switch backside late shove – the first time the defending champ landed the trick in a contest.
“I still have a couple of tricks up my sleeve if I need to use them in the finals,” said Hansen. “This is my favorite contest and I enjoy winning it.”
Hansen and the three other Pro Wakeskate finalists will face off in the deciding round tomorrow, Sunday, Aug. 22 at 1:30 p.m.
