FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  1. Do you have to know how to swim?
    Yes! Being able to swim with a life jacket is a requirement, and life jackets are required to be properly worn at all times when you are out on the water.
  2. Are there alligators in the lake?
    The lake at OWC is a self-sustained man-made lake that isn’t connected to any other feeder lakes or waterways that would allow alligators to travel. We also have constant activity in the lake, which is not preferred for alligators.
  3. Do you have amoebas?
    The risk of amoebas or any bacteria exists in any lake, but the risk is extremely low considering the water quality of our lake. It is considered excellent by standard testing criteria, and we ensure this quality is maintained by monthly testing. We also provide complimentary nose clips to anyone that wants another layer of protection.
  4. What is your weather policy?
    To ensure the safety of our guests, we monitor a radar for lightning within a 5-mile radius of us. Every lighting strike within 5 miles shuts down activities for 20 minutes, and once 20 minutes has passed without any lightning strikes in the radius, we are able to resume activities. We do not offer refunds of any kind for activities affected by the weather, but we can reschedule your reservation.
  5. When should I book online versus walking in?
    Booking online ensures your spot for the activity. Bookings can be made online for the Aqua Park, any cable lessons, and any boat lessons/activities. You do not need to book online for any of our daily cable passes, which do not include a lesson, and these are only bought by walk-ins.
  6. What is the waiver, and do I really need it?
    Anyone participating in any of our activities is required to have a waiver filled out and have watched the safety video. Any Participants 18 years of age or older can fill out the waiver online or in person and have their ID (drivers license, ID, Passport) ready for check-in. Any participants under the age of 18 are required to have a parent/legal guardian fill out the waiver either online or in person and have the parent/legal guardians ID ready for check in.
  7. What do I need to bring to the park?
    You will need a bathing suit or something you can get wet in, sunscreen, a towel, an ID that matches the waiver, and most importantly, yourself! If you forget anything at home, you can visit our pro shop to purchase these items.
  8. Do I have to know how to do the activities or are beginners welcome as well?
    We have participants ranging from never touching a wakeboard all the way to professional riders. We have two full-sized cable systems to accommodate all skill levels. The standard cable is more suitable for beginners and intermediate riders, and the advanced cable is more suitable to advanced riders. We also offer lessons, which can be booked online under “BOOK NOW”. A child safety lesson is required for any participant under the age of 10 years old, and they need to pass the lesson to be able to ride by themselves.
  9. What ages can participate?
    The Aqua Park is for participants 6 years old and older and must be at least 3’7” in height. The cable system requires a child safety lesson for participants under the age of 10 years old, which can be booked under “BOOK NOW”, and anyone 10 years old or older are able to participate by buying a daily pass.
  10. Is there an admission fee?
    We do not have a fee to come to the park! You are only paying if you are participating. We also do not charge for parking. Come out, enjoy the beach area, and watch the activities!
  11. How many times can I go through the Aqua Park or go around the cable?
    Depending on the activity, how long you buy a pass for, and how busy it is, will depend on how many times you are able to go around. For the aqua park, you have the amount of time you paid for to go through the obstacles anyway you want whether that be in a specific pattern or just however you feel. For the cable, if you are getting off the dock and getting around, you will be able to go around as many times as your body allows. If you are not getting off the dock yet, you might not get as many laps. Sometimes we are busy and there could be a wait, and if you don’t think you have enough time you can always upgrade your pass!
  12. What activities do you offer?
    Unfortunately, we do not offer jet skis here, but we have the aqua park, which is a big, inflatable obstacle course on the water. The cable parks are a pulley system that brings you in a circle for wakeboarding, knee boarding, water skiing, and wake skating. The boat offers wakeboarding, wake surfing, water skiing and tubing behind the boat.
  13. Can you do the activities if you are pregnant?
    For your safety, pregnant women are not able to participate in the activities. Please come see us next year!
  14. Are the staff able to accept tips?
    Just like other service industries, the crew works very hard to make sure all your needs at OWC are taken care of.
  15. Can we drink and bring alcohol?
    OWC does not allow any alcohol or glass to ensure your safety and safety in the park. We also do not allow smoking.
  16. Can I bring my pets?
    Unfortunately, your furry friends need to stay at home. We do not allow any pets or animals in the park.
  17. Do you have food at the complex?
    Our Dockside Grill has many options for you to choose from! From flatbreads, sandwiches, power bowls, smoothies and more! You can find the menu under the “First Time” tab.
  18. What do I do if I fall?
    The cable is constantly moving and there is a big possibility you will fall. If this is the case, make sure to always look behind you for any riders or handles that could be in your path. Once you are in the clear, take off your board, push it in front of you to the nearest side of the lake and swim after it. Walk back to the starting dock with your board and try again! If you are riding and want to get off, please let go at the white exit buoys. For the Aqua Park, there are yellow steps in the water for you to be able to get back to the obstacles. As a reminder, we have the safety video playing on both cables as well as in the pro shop.
  19. Do you offer combo passes?
    We offer a combo pass for the aqua park and cable park, within the time that you buy you can go back and forth between the two activities. The 2-hour combo pass with basic gear is $75+tax, the 4-hour combo pass with basic gear is $90+tax, and the all-day combo pass with basic gear is $105+tax. If you want the pro gear to hit the ramps and rails for the cable, it will be an additional $20. Age restrictions for the activities still apply.
  20. How many people can be on the boat at one time?
    Our Nautique G23 can accommodate 1 person riding behind the boat either wakeboarding or wake surfing, and 6 others can be inside the boat. Our Nautique Ski 200 can accommodate 1 person riding behind the boat skiing, and 2-3 people can be on the tube at one time. The boat can hold a total of 6-7 people.
